My paintings are usually about inner worlds, even though I am depicting figures and landscapes and abstracted scenes. When I am painting I am thinking of the other senses as well, sounds, music, nature, smells, touch, the sensory world that we humans inhabit and what it is like to encounter that world. My figures walk through the mundane work world and the issues we need to deal with, but they also walk with a sense of poetry and the mystery of life.
